One thing to consider when designing integrated closet lighting is the placement of shelves and anything else that can obstruct the light. A common mistake we see is one horizontal strip of lighting at the very top of the closet and nothing else. This isn’t ideal when there are solid shelves, as only the top portion of the closet will end up being lit, leaving the rest in darkness. Lighting every single horizontal shelf is always an option but can be labour intensive and expensive. Another solution is to light vertically on either one side or both sides of each unit, creating a beautiful and functional, even light.
